Marine Fuel Supply — Caspian Sea
Mazut and Heavy Fuel Oil for Caspian Sea Vessel Operators
The Caspian Sea is a closed inland body of water served by a fleet of tankers, cargo vessels, ferries and support craft operating between five littoral states: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Iran. The principal ports are Aktau and Kuryk (Kazakhstan), Alat (Azerbaijan), Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Astrakhan and Makhachkala (Russia), and Anzali and Amirabad (Iran). Vessel sizes on the Caspian are constrained by the sea’s enclosed nature and canal access — typical tankers range from 4,000 to 12,000 DWT.
LLP Kamenistoe-Neft supplies marine fuel to vessel operators, ship management companies, port agents and bunkering operators across the Caspian. Our primary marine fuel product is Mazut M100, the standard heavy fuel oil used by most Caspian-class vessels, produced under GOST 10585 at Kazakhstan’s Atyrau and Pavlodar refineries. We also supply lighter fuel oil fractions and diesel for vessels requiring distillate marine fuel.
Mazut M100 specification (GOST 10585): Viscosity grades 40, 100, 200 cSt at 50°C; sulphur content grades 0.5%, 1.0%, 2.0% and 3.5% (Grade 5, Grade 100-V, Grade 100-2V, Grade 100-3V); flash point minimum 90°C; pour point maximum +25°C. The most widely requested grade for Caspian operations is M100 sulphur 1.0%, which balances cost and environmental compliance for vessels operating under Kazakhstan’s environmental regulations.
Bunkering supply is available at Aktau and Kuryk ports by road tanker or direct barging where port infrastructure permits. For vessel operators requiring delivery at sea or at anchorage, we can coordinate barge-to-vessel supply through port agent partners at Aktau. To discuss bunkering requirements and receive a price indication, contact our trading desk.
